Hengdian College of Film & Television is currently the only higher vocational college in Zhejiang Province specializing in film and television education, established in 2006. The college is located within the Hengdian Film & Television Culture Industry Cluster, which boasts the world's largest film and television location shooting base and the highest concentration of leading film and television cultural enterprises in China. “Built for the industry, teaching for the industry, and integrated into the film and television chain.” The college aligns itself with the entire film and television industry chain to cultivate a high-to-mid-end, comprehensive talent development system. It consists of six secondary colleges: Film & Television Performance, Film & Television Production, Film & Television Art, Film & Television Tourism, Film & Television Economics, and Continuing Education.

The college offers 30 specialized programs, including: Broadcast, Film & Television Program Production (a key national program recognized by the Ministry of Education and a provincial superior program).

Character Image Design (a provincial distinctive program).

The institution actively participates in every segment of the film and TV industry chain, including: Screenwriting, directing, cinematography, post-production, animation, acting, makeup, costume design, prop-making, production management, marketing, and distribution.

To date, faculty and students have contributed to the production of over 600 films and TV series (episodes).
