【Biography】

Dr. Kassim Abdullah is an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). He joined UAEU in 2018. He earned a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in 1987. He obtained a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University in Canada in 1993 and received a Ph.D.InEngineering from the same university in 1998. He has extensive work experience in both industry and academia. He holds a Professional Engineering (P.Eng.)Licenseissued by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) in Canada. Prior to his current position at UAEU, he served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). His research interests include lightweight structures for aerospace and automotive applications, structural mechanics, finite element methods, clean automotive technologies, human biomechanics, and automotive safety.
